Not only have I still got lots of time to play around with it and find new ways to enhance my workflow and hobby editing efforts, but the technology is getting better all the time. We’re just scratching the surfaceĪs useful as these tools already are, we’re only scratching the surface of their potential. I could have done a better job by hand, but not by much - and it would have taken me ages. With Generative Fill, you can remove a background with the click of a button. Even with complicated hair and other elements. Need to remove the background on something? Generative Fill can do it in seconds. So I take the crop tool, drag out each of the sides, hit Generate and a few seconds later I have a bigger image that you’d never be able to tell was AI enhanced. The above Meta Quest 3 image is great, but it’s not big enough. This can be super useful when you’re trying to make an image hit a certain aspect ratio (did you know all our images are 3:2 or 16:9?), or if you want to make a small picture bigger. Generative Fill can expand an image in one direction or many. I don’t mean adding random elements to a scene - although it can do that - but in increasing the size of an image. It’s not just good at taking things away from images, though. And doing it with Generative Fill took around 30 seconds to select everything, and another 20 while the cloud processing finished. I could probably have been more careful and selected only the 240Hz logo and corner images, but I could also have removed it all manually. Now, in this case the fill has removed the biker and robots from the scene. In the above example, you can see what a very quick Generative Fill request does to an image that is riddled with text and logos. Image used with permission by copyright holder But it took less than a minute to do what would have taken half an hour before. This probably works well with watermarks on photos, but I don’t think I can legally advise you to do that. Got a photo with some text on it you really don’t need? Generative Fill can strip that text right out and you’d never even know it was there. Generative Fill is so, so good at removing elements from an image that I rarely do any of it manually any more. But I’ve found it works just as well for getting all the most boring jobs done faster. ![]() It wants to inspire you to use its tool (rather than the others) to produce AI-created images that will attract attention.Īdobe makes Generative Fill out to be some super-advanced, crazy-detailed tool for creative work. That’s where the Generative Fill feature comes in - and it’s changed my workflow forever. While I don’t do that quite so much these days, it’s still a regular part of my work. I’d tweak the levels and colors, sure, but the biggest job was taking out unwanted elements, whiting out the background, and getting the image in the right aspect ratio. It was basically the same thing every time: cut out the portions of the background that I could through painfully slow manual selection, or use the dodge tool to white it out as best I could. I love my job and I enjoyed my time doing lots of product reviews for various sites, but the Photoshop portion of it was decidedly tiresome. Could it be, if you were trying with the numpad and it wasn't taking your input yet the keypad button was enabled, that maybe you had numpad commander turned on, as if that was the case, or if your num lock was off, then no. Duh? That said, maybe I'm misunderstanding a bit here, but for me, as long as that button is in the selected status, and is enabled, I'm then able to hit numbers on the number row, and it works. When I did figure it out, I waz like, oh. I agree that button on the mac side needs definitely by Apple to be labeled, as until I activated it, I didn't realize what it was. You can toggle on or off the keypad with the hide button. To me, maybe I'm weird, but I actually found toggling the keypad on/off made sense. Baffled as to why this is so challenging. I had to VO+Arrow around a few times before I eventually found, and could select, the End button. I tried Item Chooser again and got the same results - it was placing focus on some other control. Turns out focus was not on the End button. I brought up the Item Chooser (VO+I), found the End button, and jumped to it, but nothing happened when I selected it. When it was time for me to end the call, I figured I could select the End button. When you do eventually happen to come across the number you're looking for, you can select it as usual (VO+Space). This opens something like a NumPad that you can VO+Arrow through, though the ordering seems to have been determined randomly as if a monkey threw digits into the air. You must find the enigmatically labeled "toggle button" in the non-standard call window and select it. The obvious way to do it - simply pressing a key from the number row or NumPad, does not work. Like, imagine if, in the original Predator, the main characters periodically stopped fighting the Predator itself, and went back to fighting the Guerrilla forces. We're told that they're badguys and somehow related to everything, but their role in the nightmarish-side of the Story is unclear, made more confusing by the fact that these enemy soldiers fight the same monsters as you do, yet they're not allies. Here, they're present, even more of a dominant force in regards to the narrative, and you're given NO context at all as to who they are, or why you don't just team-up with them against the apocalyptic forces, as that would make WAY more sense. With that, the Human enemies in the first game, and its expansions, were very easy to understand, as they were essentially just engineered soldiers, but F.E.A.R 2 did complicate things by having seemingly regular humans as the enemy with only minimal context. The first two F.E.A.R titles (as well as the two Expansions to part 1) kept things simple, in a good way, where you only understood the crux of what took place – enough so that you felt sick to your stomach (despite the horror itself), but not so much that it becomes too much, but F.E.A.R 3 tries to tell you every little detail of its story, leaving nothing to the imagination. In fact, the Story of the game is a bit bonkers and messy – I do respect that it was attempting something notably more epic and grand than previous entries, but it feels more like Halloween 6 than anything. In regards to the Story, the game does have some serious issues when it comes to the Human & Monster context. Interestingly, the game does look better after the horror kicks in, although at the same time, this game was released in the same year as Modern Warfare 3, the the difference in visuals is staggering, despite this game also being a AAA title. These tense moments, while not horrifying, do very much keep you on edge, and you do feel rather afraid when you hear enemies around you, human or monster. From the moment you're stuck in a Costco/BJ's style store, being stalked by quick-moving things that crawl on the walls (constantly running out of sight, rather than attacking you), the game does become a full-fledged Action/Horror game, and outside of the earlier F.E.A.R games themselves, this might be the best PC game of that fusion since Doom 3. However, having said all of that, the game does quickly, and effectively, get better. Objects all over the place are extremely low resolution, reminding me of things like the first Max Payne – boxes/cans of food look straight out of a late 90's FPS, and the broken textures are often times just 3D-looking textures painted onto completely flat walls, like RE4 did. Heck, having said that, I'm pretty sure that F.E.A.R 2 has better graphics than this game. They're basically Modern Warfare, but with bullet-sponge enemies, sloppier controls, surprisingly lackluster level design, and woefully poor graphics despite being 4 years newer than MW1. Overall, I thought this was a good package, and I had good time with it.Ħh 37m PlayedI'll start off by saying this: This game is 8 missions long, and the first 2 missions suck. You can finish the main story in 5-6 hours, but the game does have lots of extra activity that make you come back to it, and the story – well, for lore seekers it doesn't hold, and the horror elements are reduced – but for those who just need a story to push the gameplay along – it's fine. In co-op, you can play either the main story, or additional four modes, each offering something different. You can even join those in Co-op, which I didn't really try much but looks like lots of fun. Point Man playing as a traditional soldier, while Fettel is an entity that can posses the enemies and use them in battle. You can also play as two different characters. There are not many weapons, but each feels unique and different, and you will also have a couple of sequences in Mechs – one light and one heavy, which feel different to control. Enemies AI is okay, and they will flank you and pin you down, requiring you to combine cover and speed to get out of tight situations. To start with, controls are tight and responsive, from taking covers to engaging in melee. Sure, the story is simple and does not fully gel with the other games – and the graphic was okay for its time although other developers already done something better, but I go to shooters to have a blast, and when it comes to the action, this game does good. 9h 13m PlayedI have heard lots of complaints about this game: Those have been focused on how its lore does not fit with the previous instalments, yet after playing all three including their DLC's this year, I consider this my favourite. ![]() ![]() ![]() He's the one who hired the American scientist, who's revealed to be Lucia Von Bardas.
